Saddleback United Soccer Club was
established in 2006 by Joy Fawcett to create a unique soccer
environment that combines excellent soccer training and a commitment
to positive coaching.
Ultimately, we believe that in order to enable players to reach
their full potential in soccer, we must help them develop a solid
foundation that comes from personal character, relationships,
excellent soccer fundamentals, understanding of the mental aspects
of the game and most importantly a true love for the game of soccer.
In our opinion, youth soccer is not about winning games or
championships. Rather it is about using the game to teach our kids
some of the skills necessary to be successful in life.
For us, winning is not an objective. Winning is a result that comes
from innate athleticism, training, teamwork, self-discipline,
self-motivation and a strong desire to compete. Our focus is to help
top-level athletes developed these skills so that they are more
successful both on the pitch and off.

Monica Smith Wins PCA Double-Goal Coach Award
Each year the Positive Coaching Alliance recognizes a handful of coaches across the country that embody the principles of the Double-Goal Coach: whose first goal is winning, and whose second, more-important goal is teaching life lessons through sports.
Monica was one of 20 coaches out of the thousands that were nominated from across the country to receive this award. And she was only one of two that are club soccer coaches.
So please join Saddleback United in congratulating Monica for receiving this distinction. She is a special coach and the club is fortunate to have her as part of the family.
More info about the award and the Positive Coaching Alliance is at http://www.positivecoach.org/Blog.aspx?id=4450.
